Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts belongs to the fourth generation of Robertses to live in the Atlanta area beginning in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Early in his life the father of her mother became obsessed by the theater. As studying at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and elsewhere in Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple married and their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after the family relocated from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a television show for children in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production by themselves. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for 6 years. The couple also had two children: Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa), and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the name Julie).
